There's really only one accurate response, whenever people inquire about the weather in Los Cabos, and that's hot, hot, hot. Whether visitors ask about the temperatures in San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, La Paz or even East Cape, the answer never changes, as most travelers who venture to this Baja California Region are very well aware that when they arrive, the climate is always going to be hot.

Often times one can gauge the discomfort or joy visitors feel about the nearly year -round summer heat based on where they're coming from.

Tourists landing at San Jose del Cabo International Airport from cold weather cities react differently compared to people arriving from equally sizzling hot and humid places like the American Southwestern states of Arizona and Texas.

Average winter temperatures in Los Cabos are sixty degree lows and seventy five degree highs. The hottest and most humid months are absolutely August and September when the heat grows really intense and uncomfortably hot.

Locals and returning visitors are known to walk through Puerto Paraiso mall in order to cool off in the shopping areas air conditioned building during these end of summer months. Taxi drivers and Mexicans living in Cabo can also be seen with small white or different colored cotton hand towels used to wipe their faces while they try and stay cool in the hottest two months of this warm weathered paradise. Bottled water becomes not just a modern day luxury but a much needed necessity during August and September, even when the continuous consumption of water throughout the long hot days of Cabo is generally advised daily to anyone and everyone visiting Cabo during any time of the year by those who live, work here and battle to stay cool in the heat a little more than 340 days of the calender year.

Of course, the cooling effects of the recent storms in the area are considered the fall season transition from the blazingly hot months of August and September to the somewhat less heated months of November and Christmas.

January undoubtedly marks the beginning of the cooler temperatures which remain in the area until about March, when spring break madness kicks off the return to warmer nights and hotter days anywhere and everywhere amidst the so-called sports fishing capital of the world, which basically comprises what Cabo is all about. A vacation paradise to sun and tan and enjoy the beautiful landscape, beaches, ocean waters and very warm to hot weather.

And quite naturally, the winter months of December, January and February are responsible for the yearly rise in arrivals at the airport from cold area cities in America and Canada, which begin to land in drove to kick off their week, two weeks, and up to a month or two away from their cold, snow covered homelands of the northeast and northwest.

Partially responsible for the highly sought after hot days and warm nights of the San Lucas area is that every pueblo, town, or city within the Southern Baja vicinity all lie within the Tropic of Cancer, where the sun tends to shine hotter and brighter than anywhere else in the world. It's the type of great weather that has drawn all of the major fishing tournaments to Los Cabos, because ideally, the best fishing seasons are the end of summer and fall.

People who live and visit Cabo San Lucas from the desert southwest or moutain states in the US, generally will not consider the weatherof this area too hot. They will clamour, complain and brag sometimes, that the weather back home in their southewestern cities is terribly hotter and more humid than Cabo.

Which translates into there not being such beautiful beaches or gorgeous resorts to get pampered and relax back wherever they came from, like there is in vacation-rich Los Cabos. Average year-round temps hover at 78-80 degrees, while rising to as much as the high 90's and low 100's once summer kicks off in June.

A fact, which means there are a littlle over 340 days of beautifully warm weather to be found and enjoyed in this Land's End, Southern Baja California paradise.

And those are the two main factors which make Los Cabos the highly sought after vacation destination that it is. The beaches and summer-like, year-round, wonderful warm and hot weather.

Although, a temperature difference of 10 degrees lower, is a what some people enjoy who spend their vacation visits on the Pacific Ocean side of San Lucas, rather than the warmer area hotels and resorts, located near the Sea of Cortez along the corridor and in San Jose del Cabo.
